The rest of the Pyrenees

Found this by the side of the road, pretty impressive bird.
Found a field near Llivia, right next to the river. Abundant with wildlife, birds of prey, deer, lizards and a fox.
Doing the washing up
Having a BBQ

On the way to Allins we found a great lay-by with picnic benches, a fire and a fresh water spring, great place to spend a couple of nights.

Spent a couple of nights on a campsite in Sort to do laundry and go horse riding.

Horse riding in Rialp

These hoses are semi-wild, they spend their winter in the mountains and come down for trekking during the summer.

What should have been a lovely ride was not due to my stubborn unwilling to walk horse. I had bruises where no girl should have bruises!!!!
Onto Boren a very small pretty village surrounded by hills where we camped next to the lake.

Driving over the Baqueira ski resort we stopped to look at the wild ponies and have a family portrait.

One of our longer stays where we were able to sleep out under the stars. Next to the Baserca Resevoir. Beautiful river and fantastic water falls.

Oliver the matador

Morning cuddles

Welsh rarebit...tasted better than it looks!!
Journey up through France, first stop a campsite near Messanges.

And another BBQ

Last place we stayed before getting the Ferry from Normandy.

Off into the wild....nearly

After finding the first lake we were heading for blocked off and the second a honey pot for water sports enthusiasts, we finally found a quite one near the tiny village of Real.

What a beautiful kitchen...

...and toilet!

All was going well and we had planned to spend a few days there until we heard Nimbus yelp from the long grass. Assuming he'd pricked his nose on a thistle we continued with lunch. We soon realised it was more serious as he was in a lot of pain and then assumed a snake bite. We asked for the nearest vet and Oliver drove ambulance style to find it. He was injected with anti venom and cortisone for the swelling in his face and kept on a drip over night to clean his blood. We slept in the van next to the vet.
The next morning (this morning) we were happy to hear he was on the mend.

And he was very happy to see us

Le Petit Bon Heur Campsite

Spent a wonderful 6 days with Oliver's family on a beautiful campsite in the middle of the French Pyrenees.

Great spot

Nimbus enjoying some attention up at reception

View from reception

It was everyone in the van during a thunder storm that flooded our camp. Activities included clay model making, Dutch kids stories and A LOT of red wine.
Me and a Princess

Oskar and Seraphima

Great times by the pool

One for his first girlfriend I think!!

Into the wild

Found a nice river while the rest of the family visited some caves. Saw a couple of water snakes but it didn't stop us jumping back in for a photo op!

Family swim

And a family sunbathe

.......finally we set off........

After a slight delay setting off due to slow shower tilers, we were finally on the road......

Bye bye Barcelona from me....

....and me.....
...and him...

Quick stop for a return at IKEA.

And one last stop at our storage unit, good opportunity for some last minute organising.

All neat and tidy.
